Astral Media Outdoor took the centre ice at the Bell Centre on February 10 to unveil its new Digital Outdoor Network – Canada's first digital outdoor advertising network. Over 400 clients, partners, advertising agencies and members of the media were invited.
To the music of MC Mario and well-known percussionist Mélissa Lavergne, artist Laurent Viens created a spontaneous and original work of art inspired by AMO's new branding, Show your colours!
In a spectacular unveiling, the work immediately appeared on the huge 14-foot by 48-foot Digital panel, demonstrating the Digital Outdoor Network's amazing flexibility and creative potential. In the stunning and brilliant colours made possible by LED (light-emitting diode) technology, a series of dazzling advertising campaigns then took over the screen.
"This new network is a spectacular demonstration of the technical progress in outdoor advertising and our position as Canada's leader in innovation and creativity," said Astral Media Outdoor President Luc Sabbatini. "In this Canadian first, we are launching an outdoor digital advertising network based on leading edge technology and that is managed remotely from our ultramodern control and broadcast centre."
The network's ten exceptional sites in the greater Montréal region will be inaugurated starting in April. With Astral Media Outdoor's new Digital Network, the future never looked so bright!
At the launch, Astral Media Outdoor also announced its brand new advertising network for BIXI, Stationnement de Montréal's new self-serve bike-sharing system. Starting in the spring, 3,000 bicycles will be made available in about 300 docking stations spread throughout the city's downtown districts. Most docking stations will include an information column displaying a map of nearby stations and an advertising face for which Astral Media Outdoor has secured exclusive rights. Montréal will definitely be cycling in style with BIXI!
