Astral Media Outdoor reveals the winner of the 2009 “My Toronto Is” design competition

In partnership with the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD), Astral Media Outdoor just concluded its fourth year of the “My Toronto Is” design competition. From April 29th through to May 24th, over 6,500 Torontonians voted online at www.mytorontois.com for the design that best represented their idea of Toronto. The winning design was unveiled this morning and the winner is...

“It’s Easy to Love a City that Loves You Back”

‘’As all three members of our group come from diverse cultural backgrounds, we realized that it is so great to live in a city that loves you unconditionally, regardless of you who you are, or where you're from. We wanted to portray the city not through the landmarks, but through the feeling people get when they are here’’ said Meg Ciliberti, Patrice Pollack and Ofelia Haroutunian, members of the winning team.

“This competition is a great way to showcase young artistic talent by displaying it on our Transit Shelters around the City of Toronto,” says Luc Sabbatini, President of Astral Media Outdoor. “It’s a natural fit for Astral Media Outdoor to help promote the next generation of advertising creative talent as attractive, pleasing design is one of our biggest priorities when it comes to our Street Furniture program’’

The winning team received $3,000 in prize money and will receive a $2,000 donation to a charity of their choice. They will also have their ad displayed throughout the City during the month of June on Astral Media Outdoor’s Transit Shelter network.
