Last year, Astral Media Outdoor worked with creative agency Zig on a 3-D execution for IKEA, which received recognition at this year’s 2009 OBIE awards for outstanding outdoor work from around the globe.Zig wanted to enhance IKEA’s product offerings and 3-D was an innovative way to showcase their brand in a monumental, life-like size way. So, with an ideally situated Astral Media Outdoor Superboard, the initiative was made possible. Together they dressed mannequins, arranged furniture and accessories to spell the word JOY, using real IKEA products. After the configuration was completed and client approved, all the components were securely joined together and prepared for final installation, on structures sixty feet above the Gardiner Expressway.
